A week or so ago somebody asked for a pic of Paul's LED snowflake icicles. I posted a pic of some I have set up to test with.

Well, today I installed them on the front of the house. Here's the result (this is WITH the flash):

Thanks !!!!! (It was me who requested the pic)  WOW and double wow, those look great !!! (I thought they looked great in the previous pics you took, but seeing them on your house clearly shows how nice they are and how awesome they will look in a display) Do you have a pic of them close up, and unlit? I am curious about the size and shape etc of the snowflakes.

Amazing how bright they are !!  I have tested tons of LED lights recently but have never seen any shine bright enough to "light" up the ground etc. like those do. I wonder if the warm white ones would too?

(Over the past few weeks I have thought and thought.....and then...thought some more, about whether to bite the bullet and buy LED icicles or not. .....Finally, (yesterday) I decided I was NOT going to spend the money on them for this years display...NOW I see these awesome pics of them on your house and I find myself with the calculator out once again, trying to figure out how many sets I would need....

Chuck, I am going to tell my husband that it is ALL your fault ... ;) ;)

I just saw the snowflake icicle lights at wal-mart yesterday. I debated myself. They do look nice though.

Our Wal-mart has them also but they are their top shelves.  They told me it would be a week or teo before they are moved to where I can reach them to test.    :X

The ones in the pic are from Creative Displays. Walmart's might not look the same.

The ones in the pics above have strings of 3,5,6,3,5,6... for a total of 70 snowflakes per string.

Here's a pic of them in the daytime (still kind of hard to see):

Once again, my thanks to you Chuck for all the pics and time you have invested not only with helping me but all the others I see you are so thoughtful to help also.

To those who mentioned the Wal-Mart lights...My local WalMarts have star shaped LED icicles, not snowflake shaped. They come in 2 colors....white or blue for $11.97 a box.

Oh I forgot to tell you Chuck....If one day your pool is missing AND your palm trees...please do not come to my house looking for them..."cause" you most definitely would find them. ;-) Hmmm, think I'll use the smily emoticon with the sunglasses in preparation for the pool.

(I miss my pool I had in a previous marriage.....Funny how it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much harder letting go of the pool than the ex.....:-)

Funny you should mention the palm trees...

In the daytime pic above it looks like there are 3 palms. Actually, there are only 2. Look closely and you'll note that one is just a stump. (Lethal yellowing.)

Look closer and you notice that the one on the right has some broken fronds and is turning brown. (Again, Lethal yellowing.) This will leave just one.

I used to have over 20 palms. Only 4 are left. On Friday, a guy from FPL came by and said that the big coconut has to go because it's getting too close to the high-voltage transmission lines. I don't mind so much because it's become a nuisance - it's right over the hot tub part of the pool and one day someone is going to get whacked by a falling coconut. (FPL will also remove it at no cost to me.)

I'm not sure what I'm going to replace them with but Christmas palms (the ones in the pic above) and fox tails are out because they're too finicky.

Chuck,

Thanks for the pics, we bought the same lights and it is nice to see a preview!  We are also going to have C6yellow LEDs along the roof line.  How often do you fire all those strobes along your eaves?

That picture is my back porch where I do most of my building, sequencing, testing and other "Mad Scientist" type work. ;)

Those strobes are just there so I can determine the amont of lead time I need in a sequence so they fire as close to the desired moment as possible.

Oh good, nice to see we not the only nuts that set up at least part of their display in the back yard.  We are renting an auger this comming weekend to finish our fence (another 250' of chain link) and we are going to also dig a hole to set up our mega tree to see how it looks with the addition of 3 colors to it.

Just a quick update - there are only 6 cases left of the blue snowflake LED icicles.  Still plenty of the warm white!

I ordered the warm white 2 days ago. (I just HAD to know what they look like along side regular lights) ;-)They should be here soon because in less than 30 minutes after I placed the order, I got an email showing they had been shipped. Super fast service from http://www.CreativeDisplays.com.

On the same day, I ordered the color changing replacement bulbs from Travis at http://www.ledholidaylighting.com and got fast service and responses from him also. Sure is nice to buy from people with good customer service these days. Thanks Paul and Travis !! I WILL be back for more.

Such a shame about the loss of your palms Chuck...Friends of mine at Myrtle Beach have always told me that I wouldn't love palm trees so much if I had to prune them etc. (never knew they required so much work)
