Now.

You should be talking to Paul at http://www.CreativeDisplays.com for his annual "preseason" sale. It's going on now.

There's a thread in the LEDs forum for this.

So is buying from creative displays cheaper than the after christmas sales at retail stores??  just askin b/c i didnt start buying until everybody was pretty well sold out but i did get like 190 boxes of 100ct mini lights from hobby lobby at 90% off for like $.30 per pack!! but am looking for some c-9 leds i had saw a post on here where some people had gotten some from ace hardware after christmas but was wondering if creative displays was compareable in price or should i just wait till after christmas next year??

It really depends on where you live.  In my part of South Carolina, there were absolutely NO leds available after Christmas.  Most places had sold out before Christmas.  So if you wait for after Christmas to buy LEDs at the stores, you may get a whole lot of nothing.

There's no way you'll beat the prices at normal retail stores after-xmas sales
(assuming of course there's anything left...most of the stores here were cleaned
out before xmas)
There's also the issue of quality...from what i've seen posted here the LEDs
from few links you see posted here will in general be better quality than some
of those in stores (but also more expensive)

For online places with members here on P.C. (in addition to the 2 posted
above) there's also: Val at http://www.Christmas-LEDs.com

I agree completely as well. You can find great deals on LED's at the various big box stores during the after Xmas sales. But you will find that the majority of LEDs they have all contain replaceable bulbs which means that they arent sealed from the environment. And to make matter worse the LEDs corrode 100x faster due to the mixing of the different metals (copper wiring and LED leads) Creative displays LEDs lights are sealed (non replaceable bulbs) and hold up in all types of weather. They are alot more $$$ even when on pre season order sales. For strings of 100 bulb M5 (minis) you are looking at about 11.00 for a strings of red and about 14 for strings of white. He (Paul) also sells in cases of 12 string only for the most part. BUT, his lights are amazing, the quality and brightness are second to none.

Haven't purchased from Creative Displays so i can't compare the 2 but i got some
White C9's from Christmas-LEDs.com (on sale because some of the 'bulbs' have
a minor imperfection)
They're very nice lights!, Full Wave, And fairly bright too...oh and the color
uniformality is good too.
I'm deff satisfied with the sets i bought, and Val is great to work with as well.
