Ok! Please do not hate on me for this question! I am planning on a mega tree this year that is 10' high...my question is this....I have a 16 channel LOR system can I put the mega tree and everything else on the same system or do I have to put the mega tree on a different system all together?!

LOR is "the system" and you can hook up multiple controllers. Right now it sounds like you have one controller that will give you 16 channels. If you buy another controller it will give you another 16 channels. You then hook these up together to give you 32 channels. You can hook up more controllers to the same system to give you more channels.
As far as how many channels your megatree is going to take. You have to figure out how much you want to animate it. If you just want to turn the whole thing off and on or be able to dim it. it would only take 1 channel.
If you want to do the sweeping motion you see on so many videos, you could easily use all 16 channels on just your megatree.

There is one creative way that you can do to get a way with 4 channels if you have to. It will will not really give your megatree and rotate effect that you see so much but will give you more of a twinkle look but still looks good.
For the white I have it on 8 Channels and the Red has 4 channels and the Green has 4 channels.
For the white ones, a single channel will control the lights on one side and the ones on the direct opposite side. If you looked directly down on the megatree, it would like like a large rotating bar ===+===.
For the Red and Green ones that had 4 Channels each. I hooked them up like a plus sign + (if you looked directly down on it). A circle is 360º so one channel would control the lights at 0º 90º 180º 270º
If you are trying to get the biggest bang for the buck, I would say do a single color megatree and use 8 channels on it.
Take a look at my "Winter Wonderland Video" at about 1:14 (it counts down) and you can see a few spin effects with 4 channels (red and green on my megatree) and 8 Channels (the white lights on the megatree).
Are those smaller trees in front of your mega tree real or some sort of mini tree or did you make those?
It also looks like you only have white lights on them, but then use red and green flood lights to wash color, is that right?
and I may as well ask this one too. Since I am an AL user and using the pre-programmed stuff, is there any conversion of the LOR sequences or is it possible to get a small print out of say the first 10-15 seconds to better understand how the programming works. I am one of those types that if I see it, I can then do it. Trying to read a manual is like taking a sleeping pill, I just doze off.

Your work is fantastic!

It looks to me like those are artificial pre-lit wire trees. They come with white mini's, and it looks like he shines a green spot on them to change color.
I like that idea.
They are the prelit ones like legombajs is showing. Each one has 1000 white lights. Last year I used floods to light them up Red and Green, but this year I plan on putting Red and Green lights on them. I have Red lights with white wire and I am currently trying to find a good deal on green lights with white wire. Need to keep 'em white!
If you want to see how the sequences work, you can download a trial version of Light o Rama from their site and load up the sequences.
I bought mine at home depot. I have seen them at wallmart, kmart, and some other stores but they are usually a little smaller and don't have as many lights. The ones that they sold at Home Depot where packed with 1000 lights which is quite a bit. They were normally around $70 each but I was able to buy them for 75% after Christmas. Love those after Christmas sales!
