I have been decorating for about 15 years and now I want to take it to the next level.  Where can I find a DIY list of parts and a detailed list of how to put it all together?  The Planet Christmas How-to is real good, but I want to use the 25 pin print cable.  I would like to use the Elf program.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t know anything about a program called Elf or what level you are at now but I can help with the DIY part.  Check out http://www.DoItYourselfChristmas.com/.

Over there, we make our controllers and SSR’s and control them with a program called Vixen.  We also occasionally pool together and buy circuit boards and parts, using quantity discounts.  You can make controllers anywhere from simple to complex.

There are several highly knowledgeable people with a lot of experience in making stuff and putting up displays.  There is also a live chat that several people are using every night that you can get specific questions answered very quickly.
