Hmmmm, I always liked the look of tile roofs. I guess one always covet what someone else has.....
I don't know how high you were going to place your reindeer. I was thinking of installing a wireframe sign to the lower edge of my roof, but due to time it's going to be next years project.
Anyhoot, what I was thinking was making a frame from 2x4's, L-shaped. The long end would rest on top of the roof, and the short end I would bolt some short pieces of 2x4 to make a U, so that I could lag bolt it to the back of the wood facing below the roof (Alzheimers moment, can't remember the name of this element of the house). The short end of the 'L' will rise high enough so the long end is level. The end of the long piece laying on the roof would be mitered to match the roof pitch, and maybe attached to a small piece of plywood to spread the load and minimize damage to the shingles. Then I would put some small sandbags on the unattached side to hold it in place. Hope this makes sense. This way it is attached (hidden anchor) and a load of bricks won't fall on someone's head.
make a ladder out of 2x2 on the end of the homemake ladder add hooks on the ladder then put it on peak of the house or in the middle then add your deer on it just like the firedept when they need to get up a roof like your and bottom add wire to it to keep the bottom down
