ordered 45 boxes of 100 count clear mini's from Sears, but when they arrived last month they were 150 count. my option was to send them back, but 100 count were sold out. so i kept them to build mini trees. so to the question. saw info on a link that you could wrap 3/4 pvc to 28 inch segments with 8 channels if you are building 20 ft. arches (that's the length the 150 counts wrap to). does anyone know if that would flow correctly or should i just wait for 100 ct mini's to show up in the store and wrap to around 17 inches or so. thanks
I haven't tried that myself. I used 100 ct on my arches with 17" sections. I don't see why you coulcn't overlap the string back upon itself. Just tape it at the correct distance then wrap backward, the left over.
More lights is always better RIGHT!
Might give that a try. Kind of frustrating. Thought I was on the ball picking up sale items for next years show and Sears kind of hosed me. My first year of doing Animated Lights, but I did have sense enough to jump on sale items. I jumped, but didn't get a good result... Thanks!
The other thing to remember is that there are no "rules" to this. Maybe try larger pvc so that it takes up less space lenght wise. My arches are 1 1/4 inch pvc.
Just get some pvc, start wrapping, measure approx how long, then how many segments would that give you, etc. I found that there was quite a bit of play depending on how tight I wrapped. I could adjust for 2-4 inches easily.
If I were you, i'd make 1 and see how it looks. If you don't like it, unwrap and start over. Not that much time wasted...
