EACH CARD HAS 16 OUTPUTS , YOU CAN PROGRAM TIMERS, SEQUINCES, OUTPUT LATCHES AND ETC.  I PROGRAMED MY SNOW MACHINES WITH IT.  I PUT A SENSOR AT THE PATH WAY WHERE IF A PERSON CAME BY THE SWITCH IT WOULD TURN THE SNOWMACHINE ON FOR 30 SECONDS.  YOU CAN GET THIS CONTROLLER FROM YOUR ELECTRICAL  PLACE LIKE STRURT IRBY AND SO ON.  SOFTWARE AND CABLES TO COMMUITCATE WITH IT ALL YOU NEED.  IF YOU LIKE TO TALK ABOUT IT PM ME AND SEND MY YOUR PHONE NUMBER.

I've programmed one of these at the plant at our materials unloading system.

I'm assuming you got a good deal?
Last time I looked the 16 channel IO cards were abot $100 bucks plus the price of the processor and bridge.

not really sure i understand the advantages of using a slick to run christmas lights, if digital i/o is all you are using it for, there are cheaper and easier ways to do that, plus: most don't have a copy of rslogix 500 on their own computer, if i am missing something let me know, I have a micrologix plc that i use for halloween, and access to the software, i would love to integrate this and more processors into christmas stuff!

well here are  some pros and con to both.   with the plc you can do advance programming that a lor can't.  but the software does not let you program to music.  if you can find a plant that has junk machines that they are not using , you can buy them pretty cheap.  i have the software already because i program these programmers everyday.  i think you can use both in your display.  i plan to buy a lor this year for part of my display.

Let me see it looks like a 1746-A10, 1746-P1, 1747-L511 OR 514, (1) 1746-IA16, (8) 1746-OA16 ...

Great job finding that piece of hardware.
How much did you get it for. I just priced it out and it would cost $3410.40 even with my discount.

This should work great for any animation you want to do.

I'm going to be using a Micrologix 1500 for my 100' + 28 channel snowball fight animation with my neighbor across the street.

If you need any help programming or setting up the SLC I have been designing systems with them and programming them for about 12 years now.

Have fun,
Gary

wow,  wow,   that is amazing. double that if you have it synchronize to music.

I tried that in DirectSOFT but it was just  too timely and hard for me.  LOR's stuff is much easyer and not as timely.  you can't do as much as you could with a PLC tho.  and the price comes to about the same (i think?) .

I have sent LOR a e-mail asking for a Analog/Digital   I/O boards  to give us more things to do with the LORs.  and it makes it easyer to interface PCLs, MicroControllers, and other custom hardware.  The boards also would need  to have a high power   + & -   5Vdc  power supplies for easyer/safer  hardware interfaceing.

here is a good place to get the hardware if anyone wants it,  But you need to KNOW what Ladder-logic is tho.  I Love PLCs
