Finally got some decent pictures of my display.

Not everything is on, but that's that hard part about taking pictures of an animated display. Fortunately I got a new camera and took some video of the display this year. Here's a clip of one of the songs (I plan on dubbing the audio later, but this is good enough for now) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qLbE4xcLc8

Larry,

Your display is fabulous!  How do you have the deer mounted and could you post a daytime pic of how you did it?

Thanks.

The deer are attached to 2x4's held down with sandbags (no screws through the shingles!). The 2x4's go over the peak of the roof for added stability (and so they don't slide down the roof).

Larry,

Thanks.  That works great.  Those are great day time pictures.

What you can't see is the LOR box on the back of the sleigh that controls all of the lights on the roof. ;)

Maybe a dumb question, but the sandbags ..... do you just plop them down on top of the 2x4s or do you somehow secure them with rope or something to the 2x4s?  Just wondering if over time the sand in the bags shift and end up off of the 2x4s somehow.

40lb bags?

In past years the sleigh was shorter so I only used 3 sandbags. This year I used 5. They are all 80 lb sandbags and are just "plopped" (to use your word) on top of the 2x4's. I've never had one slip off.
