Very Very Classy!!

I really like the Tree to the right of the garage, it appears to be made of a straight leaping archs or light stick sections. How many channels does it use? I am guessing 64. How many channels do you use for the entire display?

Hi, Tim:

Thanks.  Yes, that is my "Century" Tree because it uses just under 100 channels and has 10K lights.  I hope to have another Century Tree for 2008.  The entire 2007 display is over 300 channels.

I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy...

Truly amazing display, Roy. I really have decided now that I'm going to wait and add a bunch of stuff in one year instead of just piecing stuff together.

Fantastic display.

Hi, jbone64:

Thank you.  Yes, you are correct.  The 2 left trees are 3 section, 4 colors, 26 total channels, and 1680 total LEDs.  The 2 big trees in front are 4 color, 3 section trunk, 34 total channels, and 3400 total LEDs.

Roy, Fantastic!  You've outdone yourself.  I really love the century tree with all the effects you did with it.  Also, one thing I just noticed is you do a really good job blending the white LED and white Incandescent bulbs together.  Looks amazing and I can't wait to see you again at the Philly Mini!

Tell me there is a how to coming that tree?!

I really liked the tree and think that is a great idea. How did you wrap the lights on each strand?

Hi, Greg:

Thanks!  For 2008, I'm planning on switching all of the cool white LEDs to warm white LEDs.

Philly Mini!  Did I hear at your home this year?!?

Philly mini- yes that is the plan, to have it at my place. I will probably start to get some information up in the next few weeks. I have a big backyard and best of all a big basement in case it happens to rain! I'll let ya know when I get my act together.

Can you explain how you hooked up the century tree? How the light strands are attached and such...

BTW nice song!

Greg

Jd: The whole "Believe...in Holiday Magic" is actually the music for a fireworks show at DisneyLand.  There was a CD, but it is very hard to find.

WOW, I didn't notice your signature before with 320 channels. I only have 128 and have a hard time keeping track of everything. I can't imagine trying to program  that many channels, My head hurts just thinking about it. I am planning to add several more controllers for this years display.I am courious what computer set-up you use for programming the sequences, are you using a multi monitor set-up to eliminate some of the scrolling up and down and being able to see more of the channels at once?

Greg,

Sounds good, see you at the mini!

I plan to do a "how-to" shortly since there seems to be a lot of interest in the Century Tree.
