It has been said that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. I want to imitate you. Do you happen to have a parts and/or source list? I am not in the business, so it is difficult to figure out exactly what you did and how. I believe that I will be making very similar boxes this Summer!
if thats the case ill be flattering the h e l l out of him LOL (if i can find an enclosure to match that is)

I can give you a material list and a price that I paid for it, hopefully you can find some if not all of it cheaper.
ITEM Supplier Price
1- 24” x 30” x 6” NEMA 3 Enclosure Houston Electric Surplus 150.00
1- Sheet of Aluminum .125 x 24” x 48” Sheet Metal Supplier 65.00
Will the input power be twelve individual cords/circuits, or will it have breakers and a single 100amp or ? service to supply it?
The Enclosure will be outside, I am building a acrylic cover to go over the front of the enclosure. The enclosure will be about 50' from my 200 Amp panel so I am going to run two 3/4" Sealtite flexible metal conduits with six 20 amp circuits in each conduit. The benefit of doing it this way is that I will be able to roll up the conduit after the season and store it with the enclosure.

Thanks for the listing of parts. I have reviewed your posts and pictures. The parts list really assisted me in a grasping the entire concept.
Since, I have never really been a metalworker, I am a bit unclear about how to make the rectangular holes for the outlets. If you would share your technique, it would be much appreciated.
BTW- Two years ago I put in my 2nd 200 amp panel. This year I will be placing sub-panels from that panel to power the different parts of my display. All the wiring will be underground and permanent. The objective is to cut down on the number of extension cords. This box will really make the difference in this project.
I probably could use one or two 96 channel boxes in the front yard. It is probably easier to build them together. The design is so clean and I probably can lift the box without a crane... By the way how much do you think the completed unit weighs?
Cutting the plugs was actually the easy part. I layed out a grid lines on the cover equally spacing the plugs. After the grid lines were laid out I drilled 3/8" holes in the corners and cut them out suing a jig saw. Maybe a picture of the front will help.
Oh, the box weighs 65 lbs, not to heavy for one person to move around.

What part of that occurred to you as being "easy"! That sounds like work to me!
Can't you use some sort of punch or something for that?
Yes, Greenlee makes a punch for a regular duplex receptacles but you need to drill 3 holes for each outlet and use two seperate punches. A little labor intensive for the amount of receptacles I had to cut........do I still get to keep my A+++?
This will probably take a little while to assemble the components, then putting it together should be very interesting. I was looking at metal boxes at Menards today, but I will probably be going to the local electrical supply house.

WOOHOO!!!
Congrats!!! That is an awesome price, Keep us updated as to your pogress.
he called me about an hour after my post
and said its mine for 120+ tax so its still a
good deal...i also have enough wire to do it
up so all i need to buy is the recepticles (sp?)
and the box...ill prolly get it in a few weeks
(i have the wire troughs in my trunk
from a previous job so i dont even have to get that)
personally i dont see the need for the 5 amp
fuses since i keep below the 8 amp allowence
per channel so im not going to bother with
those since i have a plexiglass vision for
adding 6 more controllers on top of the
existing 6 and those fuses would get in
the way (although i dont have those 6
extra controllers...its a vision for future adds)
IF i get the box and do this project, ill start
a thread showing progress

I'm looking at your picts again and I'm not noticing any grounding. How do you have the box and the outlets grounded. I know that you have the grounding wire from the plug that is coming from the house.
The Enclosure will be grounded through the equipment ground from my panel. I will bond a #12 wire to the cabinet which will effectivley ground the plugs and controllers.
