Class! Settle down!

Good evening students...

Today, we're going to learn how to use our old Darryl B. stars with his new-fangled toppers.

JMulls - do you have a problem? Good. Now settle down or you're going to the Principal's office!

OK. Now, where was I?

Oh, yes...we're going to use our old pole adapters (shown here)...

Well, no worries.

Just mix up some JB Weld - which is available everywhere. (I mix mine on the Lowes ads I get in the mail) and smear it all over the place:

Put it all over the old post fitting and set the new-fangled topper over it. Be sure to smear it all across the cross-pieces for a firm bond:

Also, be SURE you're putting it on the correct side of the topper! You're probably not going to get a "do over" on this!

No, no, no!

You're SUPPOSED to say "Is that going to be on the test?"

And, yes, I like this new topper from Darryl. It's MUCH nicer for high-density channels than the old bun-foot with the hooks on it.

Plus, it won't split if it gets wet and it's actually LIGHTER (I think).

You could buy some PVC nipples/reducers and accomplish the same thing as I did here but I was trying to show how you can use your existing fittings with the new topper.

Edit: It just occurred to me that I should probably charge Darryl for this.

It's one of Darryl's "standard" stars.

The topper is his latest version that replaces the old "bun foot with hooks."

This thread was just meant to illustrate how to use your existing stars if you happened to already have one. I'm sure he'll have a new system for any new orders.

I don't know. He just sent me this topper for a PVC kit I bought a few months ago.

I like it much better than the "bun foot". It's great for those of us that "overload" the channels.
