It's good to see Darryl finally change that design. The bun foots have been notorious for splitting, and his hooks were very in adequate, especially with Sessel's LEDs and the recitfier cylinder.

I did not see them on his website, but I always have issues with his site, it is SLOW and problematic.

Maybe a weld project if I have time, cause I like the idea of the topper and nice touch with the star Chuck.

Good evening students...

Today, we're going to learn how to use our old Darryl B. stars with his new-fangled toppers.

JMulls - do you have a problem? Good. Now settle down or you're going to the Principal's office!

OK. Now, where was I?

Oh, yes...we're going to use our old pole adapters (shown here)...

Or you can put a 1 1/2" to 1/2" bushing....lol.

Mr. Hutchings

Do you think this mod brings the star to close to the bunn/topper ?  Should it a be little higher , maybe ?  Will the lights of the tree over power the lights on the bottom part of the star ?   Just asking , wanting to learn more.  The topper looks outstandings.

Hello Mike,

It is always a preference thing, but if you thought it was to low for your liking, then you can but a short 1/2" nipple and coupling to increase the height.

I've never used a star before so I have no opinion (yet) on this. And, as Darryl pointed out, it's easy enough to adjust.

I DID notice, though, that Darryl left enough distance to swivel the star into place without hitting the "hooks". (Or was that just serendipity? :P)

Works for me. ;)

Is that a new sauce.

I was planned, did not want to get to high and make it look disconnected from the tree.

Ok, after school or is this a Saturday detention. lol

Hey! I just noticed my keyboard is just typing what it wants.... no really, guess it's time to get a new one today, so I'll have to watch word by word, but this does not make up for me being a bad speller to start with. back to the topic at hand.

I was looking at Darryl's web site and saw the new mega tree stuff. I did not see the topper by it self, I might have missed it, but since you have it, I'm thinking he will sell those to. I'd like to get two sets of the Head and Hook head they lOOK cool. i like to stock a bunch of the other hard to get parts as well, they do come in handy.

The one chuck has will replace the bun foot if you want to replace yours. And the pieces on my website will come separte if people just want one piece. I will also have a complete package from star to the parts for a new pvc base.
