I didn't know which forum this would be best to ask in so I chose this one.

Hey gang,

If you were approached with putting together an animated light show display, how would you break down your services to a contract? If the lights were contracted out to somebody else to put up and all you had to do is hook up the controllers and provide a show, what would you include? I couple things I though of...

Time spent sequencing (or charge per sequence); setting up controllers; number of nights running; nightly monitoring of display for proper operation....

Would you insist on keeping ownership of the controllers and other equipment for the control and responsibility aspect of the equipment?

What are your thoughts? What would you do?

Tom

Something to protect you against the music industry suing you for a public performance?

My thoughts, having some insight to a few commercial displays.

Don't retain ownership of the equipment. Customer should provide their own hardware.

Design the display, and with specifics as to what should be hooked up where.

Do charge for sequencing.
