I've been in contact with my sales rep from General Foam

Good news
It's possible to order unpainted molds, but there isn't any cost savings

I will be ordering some items unpainted for my own collection to custom paint:
Tender car - possibly 2
Angel - Choir

Think about it, if anyone else wants unpainted molds let me know when I do the general Foam Pre-Order

Bad news
- Price increase for 2008, not sure how much yet

-They do not sell most of the Baby Jesus seperate from the Nativity families. The only one they sell is the one from the Nativity Family C5550 - and I would need to order a dozen. If there are enough people interested I will order a dozen of the baby Jesus
These will be sold at cost plus shipping. I don't think any Nativity should be without the baby

I will be starting my Pre-Order for General Foam in Spring, summer delivery
Thanks

Dave,

Just curious, what kind of custom paint job are you planning for them?

Tenders will be red & blue to add to existing green tender

Angels/Choirs will have different hair colors
Not sure of exact colors

I think the trumpet angels have got to be one my 10 ten favorite blow molds, I absolutely love them. I have about 36 of them and have one more Ice angel to paint. After I finish that one, I have the sitting Ice bear too. When I had the chance to buy all the Ice molds, I didn't like them due to the hot spot. But then I realized I could custom paint them and by then, they were pretty much gone from the stores. Hindsight is precious..I"m still kicking myself over it.

Now I find myself looking thru the molds figuring out what I want unpainted
I guess I'll order this one also - they come (2) to a box
This would go great with a Marble set
I had intended to order the Traditional set, but now I am considering ordering the Life size set unpainted. I guess I could store them under my deck since fading woudl not be a problem

Candy canes would be another good one for green striped candy canes

If I have enough money at the time I would be interested. You hit the nail on the head with the red and blue tender cars! I have always wished there were different cars. The green candy canes are an excelent idea too! How about chocolate w/green stripes... or red... not sure how that would look....

Just a quick thought, since you cant buy the trumpet angels anymore, have any of you with an angel tried to see if you can get reproductions made from one of yours?

Farley Industries owns the molds for the Angel with Horn ("trumpet" angels) and you would probably run into legal problems if reproductions were made.

Also I believe the cost to produce a mold from which to make the blow molded item is over $100,000.00.

Yellow would be nice too.  If you still wanted more then orange and purple.  :D  It would be cool in a big yard to have 8 or 10 cars.

Now if you REALLY want to crank this up (Dave) then how about coming to the mini plus at Carrie's and bringing the blowmolds for those attending?  This would REALLY help on those large items that cost so much to ship!

It would cost me over $400 in gas alone to get there & back
Plus around 16 hours of driving each way  :)
8 hours of driving I don't mind, but 16 is a bit much
