They still make items like these, maybe not exact
I thought of buying them for C-9 strings

Of course if they have to travel an hour to get to a store.....
I used to live about 30 minutes from any big store, real pain

Alec, great minds think alike..I've wondered about it too. Food may be a problem unless you want to buy a pancake with the image of Jesus in it! (I hope no one is offended by that..but it was a real auction!)

You mean buying everything you need, including food?
Possible, I just searched for "food" & it came back with over 12,000 matches
Might get a bit expensive to eat w/shipping

That was a darn cheap price for that angel.  I wanted to bid on it but the seller wouldn't give me a shipping cost on it.  If you read the fine print at the bottom of the listing you can see that the $24 wouldn't pertain to me as I am on the west coast.  They gave me measurements for the angel but not for the size box that they would ship it in so the shipping could not be figured.  I asked them twice about the shipping and they did not even give me a cost, only the measurements of the angel without the box.

Seller's payment instructions

The shipping charge is for the lower 48 states and rural areas and that is a guesstimate the shipping and handeling charge will be the actual amount it cost me to send it too the winning bidder after the auction ends, if you are the winning bidder please send me your full address and i will take the item to get the actual cost to ship it to you and then i will send you out a invoice for the amount of item and the least expencive way tto ship this item to you within 24 hours.Thank You for biddin[code]

That was a very good price for that mold, you don't see those every day. I wish I had seen the auction, I would probably have bid on it.:{

Being still fairly new to this Blowmold thing, one thing is very clear to me. The blowmold price is just like the gasoline price, those days are gone. That is the downside to a good thing. The good thing is more people getting back into Christmas decorating. I am glad that more people are getting into decorating just wish they would use wireframes or inflatables.

I will be in Chicago  Sep 1 for the Mini.  Where will you be?

I don't understand why some items on Ebay get bid up so darn high, and others do not.  I have got some good deals sometimes, and other times have seen the items be bid into the stratosphere.  I do have one concept or theory on why some items may get bid up higher than some others.  For instance--

If you happen to live up north or somewhere else that is near one of these "Menards" type stores where you can walk in and buy a blowmold, the prices you will pay on Ebay will be determined by that.

HOWEVER, if you live somewhere like I do, where the only place you can buy a blowmold is Wal Mart or Kmart, and they only have one or two a year, then you are probably going to be willing to pay a little more for the item, since you can't get one.  Also, I check yardsales, thrift stores, flea markets, sales, Etc, and even have an ad in the Iwanta sales paper.  But since molds are not readily available down here in this area, there are not many people who are selling their collections (in other words, they don't have any collections cause they could never get any)

Now don't get me wrong, I agree that some people bid up items to stupid highs, and there are those individuals who are buying just to sell later and of course the scammers who get another person to bid the item up against you to make more money.

But sometimes, an Item that is commonplace to you because you can walk into Menard's and buy one could be rare to another just because they have no access to anyplace they could buy one.  Heck, before the Internet, I thought the only blowmolds that existed were santa, snowmen, 3 piece nativities, and candles.  Because these were the only items ever available in my area.  And since shipping has become so expensive, ordering outright on line is not always a viable option.

Just my 2 cents, and of course a little rant about all you lucky souls who live close to a Menards or similar establishment :?

ARRRRRRRRRRRRG!!!!!!!  They did it again!!!!!!  I was trying to get a empire/great foam shepard for my nativity.  Bid on one on Ebay, good shape, but without the sheep.  they bid it up to 46 bucks-- A new one with a sheep included is 45 dollars!!!! The worst thing about it is it is probably sombody who lives in an area where they can buy the darn thing.  Oh well, guess I'll keep trying.

On the plus side, I did win a pair of candles for 10 bucks, with only 9.99 for shipping.  Won't know who made them till they get here, but they look like old poloron ones.

I am really surprised to hear and see blowmolds still getting these high prices in the off season.  Usually, ebay cools off after the season.
