Brad,

On February 14, 2005, I sent Rick Vettorel of Grand Venture an email asking him that very same question.  Here is his reply.  I think you probably remember that Rick and I exchanged many emails and phone calls during 2004 and 2005 about Grand Venture and their holiday blow molds.

The picture of Mrs. Claus that he is refering to is in the Grand Venture 2003 catalog and shown as "New".  She is not in the 2004 catalog.

BTW, the email address for Rick is no longer valid, so we can not contact him that way anymore.  He left Grand Venture in mid 2005, just before they closed, to work for a well known firm that is not connected with the plastics field.

We never produced the Mrs. Claus.  What you are seeing in that picture in that catalog was a prototype, or cast model.

Denise,

Is Falcon Plastics still there?  They have/had the same physical address as Grand Venture of 250 West Wylie Ave.

Mel
Yes, the building still says Falcon Plastics, but it's empty.

Thanks for the reply Denise.  Apparently they are long gone also.  They are the ones that had the Grand Venture molds after Grand Venture closed.

You're welcome, Mel.  I wonder if anything is still in there.  I might go and peek around next time I go by...if it's not snowing or raining.
