Your absolutely right, Mel. If I can't pay by credit card or Paypal, I don't buy. At least, if you choose to not ship to me, I have protection. Sending you cash is no protection. or guarantee. In your case since I know that you are Holiday displays web-site, etc, etc. then I know where to find you if there was a problem, so you may be exception to the rule. But other individuals that do not use these sites, and I have no clue who they are. I would never consider buying from them.
Now, the question is. Do you really trust everyone, and consider sending cash, or a money order to them if you don't know who they are. In today's society, you have to be very careful, or you will be ripped. I am sure you understand that. So, thats why I take that position. It appears that the way you wrote your response that I affended you. I am not trying to affend anyone. i am just stating my opinion
I appoligive if my opinion affended you in any way.
No, you did not offend me in any way and no apology is necessary. I was only saying that just because someone does not accept PayPal it doesn't mean that they can not be trusted.
I have also won many, many eBay auctions since I registered there in 1998 and have always paid for them with a money order. Some of the money orders went to Canada. So far, I have never been cheated by anyone and the only item I did not receive was an Empire shepherd that got lost in the mail a few years ago. When I told the seller that I did not receive it, they refunded my money including the shipping. I mailed off nine money orders in March and another one yesterday for eBay wins and have had no reservations whatsoever about doing it. I probably will eventually lose out sometime, but that will not stop me having trust in my fellow man/woman.
As for your comment "I know that you are Holiday displays web-site", I am not and have not been affliated with that website in any way other then occassionally making posts in the blow mold forum. I don't know who told you that I am Holidays displays web-site, but they are completely wrong about that.

Before Paypal became an option I used to mail sellers a check. I'm not in a hurry for most items so I don't care if they hold it until it clears. I have sent a money order for a few items including one that I got a month or 2 ago. Interestingly the one item that I did not receive was also an Empire shepherd! Normally I never buy insurance but in that case the seller sent the item parcel post with insurance (instead of priority mail as I had requested). It took about 2 months, numerous phone calls, and several trips to the post office to finally get my $40 back. It took WAY more than $40 worth of my time but I did get my money back. (I will not waste my money again on USPS insurance unless an item is very expensive!)
To get back on subject, I'm not going to go through life being paranoid that I might lose a couple bucks. I judge a seller based on their feedback, the content of their description, and their communication with me. In most cases an unreliable seller can be spotted from their feedback and their item description. I have also not been cheated (although I have received items that were poorly packed). I do think there are more scammers on eBay now that there used to be so it's wise to be more careful. I still think sending a check or money order is ok if you have checked out the seller as much as you can.

Sorry to put a damper on your observation, but did you check out the listing and the winners profile? The winning bidder registered with eBay on April 1, 2008. They made their first bid on April 1, 2008. They made another bid on the 2nd even though they were still high bidder and they won the auction on April 2. The feedback that they received for those candles is the only feedback that they have at this time. Personally, I think that the seller is also the buyer and got stuck losing money on that one with having to pay the final value fee for the candles.
I was the first bidder on the candles and was very thankful when I was outbid, as I had not recognized the candle picture at first. I believe that the seller opend a new account and bid on the candles in hopes that I would bid again. They have listed another auction with the same description and the same picture for the candles that is now on eBay.
Last night I sent the seller a message asking about the new auction and if the buyer had backed out on the purchase. This was their reply this morning.
HELLO NO If you read it correctly you would have noticed that I stated I had more than one set of these for sale . This is merely another of those sets. The winning bidder only wanted one set THANKYOU MISS DAISY
I won't feel comfortable about her until I see good feedback from these.
One of those winners have 245 feedbacks, so they should be a legitimate buyer.
Out of six items that she sold, she only has feedback from the one and has only left feedback for that one at this time. That is also the only feedback that she has left for anyone as a seller.

This is an unfortunate thing that happens all too often on Ebay. Some people simply can not let the market decide the value of their item, or they are so sorry an individual that they can not help themselves to feel they have to try to rip sombody off.
I have noticed this type of behavior on Ebay alot more lately. It did not seem to happen near as often back when I started on ebay (1999).
It's too bad

It definately sounds like she's using a second account. She's probably not worried about the final value fees at this point. She may have hoped that no legitimate buyer would win so that she could "buy" herself some good feedback.
Seeing her response convinces me that it is the same scammer based on the tone and writing style.
I think we all need to ask Chuck to make the blowmolds forum visible only to registered members. (I noticed recently that it is not when I was doing a Google search and some of the matching links were threads here in the blowmolds forum.) This would make it a little less likely that these type of scammers would be able to read about our research on and investigations of them.

that other account is no doubt her...we will have to keep an eye on it too...
look at the feedback styles...
left for her from this new buyer...
Who was it that reported this to eBay last time? Whoever it is that has a way to contact an actual person needs to turn her in so she will get kicked off again.
Ok now i just uncovered something fishy also lol . On March 1st she won the large Poloron Mary and Joseph from a power seller. Now she has it listed as this is a old set that she has not used in many many years. haha. and shes using the same pic that it was listed with from the previous seller. This is some crazy stuff going on here
Oh ya and anouther thing is the person who had it listed before states there is small holes in the noses, but Miss Sweet Daisy does not say anything about holes just that there in good condition for there age .
