Maybe I am just a Logan's Run fan but thought having a wireframe with the words Peace (or maybe even Peace on Earth) in the back yard of our display would be cool but have no idea how to go about creating it from scratch.

Can anyone lend some suggestions or a link to where I might find a place to create it for me.

Not looking for Script... rather block lettering.

Thanks!

Uh...go to home depot. Some times they have wireframes for plants in certain shapes. I know there are heart, possibly circles. If thats the case then you can weld metal rods on it to make the peice sign. Just an idea.

yeah - problem is I'm not really a welder per se ;)

just wondering if there is another way to do it or whether I need to have this made for me (or learn welding!)

You might build a square frame [of wood or pvc] and mount hardware cloth on it.
Fasten mini lights  or  rope lights it to spell the words you want.

I think Mike is right...Just build the letters our of PVC and attach lights to them with zip ties. That should be quick and easy. I think the only letter you may have a problem with is the "C", but just use a lot of 45's.

Plumbers putty is the stuff you roll up like a snake and stick under drains when installing them.  It's sort of the consistancy of play-doh and certainly won't hold together a wireframe...

Also, the original poster wants lettering, not a peace sign...

I would highly recommend Lori's Lighted D'lights in Starke, FL. They have the best quality, prices and customer service that I have found anywhere!!! They will bend backwards to meet your needs and they do a marvelous job, also their ligths are clipped in place instead of being taped (huge difference for durabilty) Call Lori and you should tell her that Doug sent you and that you are a PC member, she loves us and you will get a discount! http://www.lorislighteddlites.com/

Guys - have used Lori and Linda both for wire frames.  They both do great work.  In fact, just ordered seals tossing a package back and forth a few weeks back from Lori's.

Again, was just wondering if there was a way without soldering to do letters to spell out in letters - PEACE.

I'll take this thread to say that there is no easy way ;)

Where there's a will, there's always a way!

Here's two ideas for you:
I think what threw people off of giving out actual suggestions, is that it's virtually impossible to create a true wireframe without welding (believe me, I've investigated it).  But as long as it doesn't have to be a "wireframe" you can get similar looks with the mesh letters.

Good luck!
