I used the HHIAB for a couple of years and found white floods shining up the front of the house very effective. Specially if there are bushes or shrubs in front of the lights. They are synced with the thunder claps.

The Musical Lights of Christmas
The channel assignment according to the programming should be as follows:
Channel 0 = Strobe 1
Channel 1= White Flood Light (for lightning fx, I aim these at the house.)
Channel 2= White Flood Light 2 (for lightning fx, aim at a different angle from 1st.)
Channel 3=Purple or Blacklight ( keep in mind if it is a tube style blacklight, it will not repond to controller information very well, I normally use purple.)
Channel 4=Bush or tree 1 ( the next four channels are to be a group of objects.)
Channel 5= Bush or tree 2
Channel 6= Bush or tree 3
Channel 7= Main spooky tree ( my biggest tree gets this channel)
Channel 8= Group or Prop 1 (I put different colored floods on each prop.)
I used different colored floods for each of the props. The four channels 4,5,6, and 7 I used net lights on bushes with channel seven being my spooky tree. Obviously you can use other things than bushes. It works well to have part of the house outlined in lights for each channel. The Bates Haunted Motel and Hayride is an example of taking the channels and putting them on different outlines of the house. You can add more lights to each channel to light a scene, but make sure you do not overload the controller. I Hope this helps. The great thing about Animated Lighting's pre-programmed songs is that you can use a variety of different setups and they will look great. Let me know if you have any questions.
