Just want to say thanks to Ken Good for putting out the training material, when I was trying to do my display with video this year, I had run into some problems.  By going to Ken's training on his web page, I was able to get answers to my issues.  This made things much easier and the show went on without a hitch.  The video worked well in the display, was able to project it on the neighbors house (see video link below) - I did notice that the video itself was watched more than the display ...but then again, most people are in a hurry on Halloween night to get to the next house to get more candy....

Thanks Ken for your help.

Looks awesome!  :waycool: You did a fantastic job sequencing. The rhythims of the singing pumpkins are not easy to program. Would you be interested in sharing your show sequence on Ken's site??

Thank you so much for the compliment.  The idea for the training website grew out of an idea from Paul Madden.  He thought it would be a great idea if we could see if we could use GoToMeeting to have training sessions.  I agreed to do the classes and then we "discovered" that you could record them.  Then I was really excited because they can be watched by anyone.  We had a lot of fun doing them and I am sure that we will update them periodically.

Okay, now I have to go back to putting out my display.

I watched your video.  You did a great job.  I thought the editing was excellent too.

Ken

That looks great, the video in the show really added to it. Even the video editing of the show is awesome do you do that for a living?

Ken,

I didn't see any training on using video on your site, have you done any training on this yet or am I reading into this wrong? I've seen it mentioned a couple times in different threads about you having done training on using video and was curious about it seeing I didn't see it on your site.

Roger

Looks terrific..   I am really impressed at how well the video is working with Animation Director... getting really good taste of using it for real now as I am kind of lame in that during setup periods... I like to string lights at night with them running a show... so I can see it in action now... if I have crashy problems or other things... I also want to know NOW rather then in December... but so far except for lights coming out of the attic with bulbs that fell out of sockets... its all working perfect.

Yes Greg, I will put it out on the shared page (once things settle down) - Roger, as far as actual training on Ken's page for the video, I can't remember specifically what I learned but whenever I had a problem in setup, I tried to find an answer there.  Seems the documentation didn't address alot of the finer details.  Paul,  as far as video editing, it is mainly a hobby, have been doing it for a while. Joseph, as always, looking forward to seeing your display once you get it running, one day we will have to drive down and see it live.

The one training video we did not do was for video.  There have been so many questions about it that I wish that I had done one.  But it has been fun talking to so many people.

I think many of us have calculated what we need for video but I think all of us except Mike Z have had little or no experience with the video thing before so we are all actually kind of learning how to and dealing with the glitch details "as we go"...

We'll all probably be in better shape to make training videos after this season is out and we'll be able to do it with "experience" by then rather then guessing and hoping it works.  Seems so far everything we hoped for and planned on appears to work without a hitch.   This is the big reason I went with Animated Lighting.  When Drew Hickman tells you this is possible and what you need to do, you can take it to the bank and anything he is associated with is always rock solid reliable.
