my new computer doesnt have a serial port. i bought a usb to serial connector, loaded the software on and cant get the computer to see any of the controllers. actually, its doesnt appear to see the mb either. when im under the system tab, the mb tab isnt black so that it can be clicked on. when i do locate or verify, it doesnt see the controllers either. i did notice under the settings tab, its set to com1. nothing there about a usb port. anybody have any ideas on how i can get the computer to see the mb/controllers ?

I can only assume your new computer has more then one USB port.  If so change the settings to COM1, COM2..etc and do a locate after each change.  When AD sees the MB and controllers, you will know you have the right setting.  If you are using the MB that has the MP3 player all in one(newer version, small box)  Check with Animated Lighting, I attended a training back in April, and Drew had a fix to allow AD to communicate with the MB through the USB port on the MB.  Either way, by changing the com ports and doing a locate, you will find the right one.

Good Luck
