Jeff_Womack wrote: Hey guys, I am working on an update to this listing.  AS many of you know I iwll not be doing a display this year (building new house with a BIG yard!) so I hope to really clean up and update my own site while I have a little down time.  If you need to be added to this listing and haven't already PM'd me, either respond here or PM me and I will get the new listing out within the next several weeks.

PRIORITIES MAN!

I would build the big yard, do Christmas Lights, then build a house.  You can always have a house, but you can't go back and do lights.

Believe me Greg, the yard was the hard thing to find!  It is 2.15 acres and over 400 ft across the front!

Jeff - - Wow!

With those property dimensions and seeing what you have done before, I can't wait to see your new display.

Darn, I was just at my uncle Melvin's in Michigan.  He owns 700 acres or actually a bit more then 1 square mile of land including 6000 ft of river front property a little bit northwest of Grand Rapids, Michigan.   After going on an hour long 4 wheel ride all over his property, you can better believe,  "I want a square mile too",   wow what you can do with something like that?

Whats hard to believe is Uncle Melvin got the land way back when for $50 an acre... darn why cant there be deals like that anymore??

My two acres was mone than Uncle Melvin's 700!  Still not bad cost especially with all services there and plenty of trees but 2.152 acres for $45k.

Hopefully things are starting to quiet down for me and I will post a new and improved listing very soon.  Very special thank you to Greg!

Jeff,

I didn't think you posted much here anymore.

I know, myself, I have toned down quite a bit.

I find it extremely frustrating that you can not edit post that are more than 6 hours. This thread would be very useful if the Original Poster could edit their first message so you did not have to scroll and try and find the "latest" one.

This is the ONLY board I know of (and I use quite a few) that does not allow you to edit your own messages.

You can't update bad links, update lists, etc.

A Huge thumbs down for not being able to edit your posts. :(

WOW!  Here in NW Indiana, my parents paide like 45-50k for our 1/2 acre! (water, sewage, gas, cable, electrical hookup here)

And some of teh same size lots are going for like $95k on the other side of our subdivision!

Well, back on track.  I hope to get a website soon :D:D.  My dad is switching hosts for his site, and I can get a domain with a TON of junk for 10 bucks a year!  My dad's employee is gonna help me set it up.  (Thanks Justin!)

I guess to anybody who cares or agrees with me.

This message board use to allow you to edit your post which is nice to fix broken links, running lists, or other things to make the message more clear.

I am not exactly sure the incident that made the moderators change it, but it had something to do with people being able to edit their posts to make others look stupid. ????

It is sort of a pain to have to bug Chuck all the time if you need to fix a link or something else in a message.

This thread is a perfect example of what I am talking about. It would be nice if Jeff could just edit the Original Post to include or fix links, but since we can not edit our own post, you have to post another message. It just makes the board a lot more messy and you get different versions of th same thing all over the place.

Ok, I will get off my soapbox now. :)

Update.  I am finally back in town and have an internet connection where I am staying.  This week, now that I have wrested my website back form Jatol, I will be working on the new and updated listing.  I have a lot of PMs (thank you all!) and one very good listing from another PC member.  I hope to have a newly updated listing by this next Sunday.

Jeff

Don't pull christmas.coastalsteve.com off of there, I didn't get to do a display last year so I never updated the site, but started display setup this past weekend, it'll be updated in a couple weeks.

I agree with RichardH. One should be allowed to go back and update posts that give out-of-date information. There should be ONE list someone as kind as Jeff can keep updated.

Frankly, a list of members' websites is so intrinsic it should be handled by a moderator and be in one place, in my humble opinion.

Thank you, Jeff, for putting this together. It's a great resource (I just don't like having to scan this entire thread to piece together the "real" list).

Cheers!
