PlanetChristmas Search - Web Sites for Christmas and building them. Read Only. No more posting. - PlanetChristmas! Forums. Read Only. We've moved to http://talk.planetchristmas.com - The Forums of PlanetChristmas have moved to http://talk.PlanetChristmas.com
I'm afraid you're only going to have a limited success with the outside search engines.
Logout of your PlanetChristmas forums account and goto http://forums.planetchristmas.com. Notice there are not too many forums to see... and this is all the search engines can index. Once you login though, all kinds of new stuff can be seen and only the search engine built into the forums can see it all.
I'll admit to contemplating opening up many more forums so the outside world can at least read them, but not post unless they are registered members.

I think it would be a god idea to be a little more open. That way, search engines, like Alec's could do most of the work. That would be better since the one here does not work very good....
I limited the search engine exposure a couple of years ago because PlanetChristmas takes your privacy seriously. The forums were getting too much exposure and a lot of "less than family friendly" enterprises were registering and trying to harvest email addresses. I've since put some hurdles in place to do a better job of screening new accounts.
Watch for a thread to open up soon where we'll be discussing potential changes in the PlanetChristmas forums.

You can open up the forums for spiders to crawl to index vaulable information to get better content indexing without causing people to get emails. That should have nothing to do with anything. You can set .htaccess to disallow users access to perosnal areas. Of course this forum uses Js so it is open to XSS attacks without needing to be a registered user.
