OK ... I have done it now .  I have entered the web era .  My son thinks it is real cool that his name is on the net.

I am open to any and all critiques for what I have at this point.  I do have some changes that are currently being worked on, but hope to hear some good and bad suggestion from anyone here.

http://www.thielchristmas.com I have it hosted by 1&1.

I want to keep the site simple and clean as much as possible.

I still have things to do - finalize the display layout, finalize song selection, synchronize songs, build north poles (51), buy more lights,  synchronize songs, get electric installed, put my 8 controller together, synchronize songs and I almost forgot - convince the wife that all the time that I am spending in the office will be worth it

So go ahead and let it fly!  :] - maybe I should keep the smile back.  Don't want to collect anything in my teeth :).

Your way ahead of what I've got done. The site looks great. I wanted my to be fun. I have a lot of work to do on mine. I'm across from you in north port fl. As time gets closer, we'll have to trade ideas. Your off to a much better start than I am. Learning curve for me. I'll get it fixed this weekend. Great job.

Just don't use fire fox. It's pretty disappointing. I'll fix that though.

Animal,

Thanks for reviewing the site.  Are you planning on attending the mini in June?  As for waiting for time to get closer, my advice as well as the advice of many others on here - don't wait.  I would rather work all year just to find out that I am complete and ready for the setup in September than to be running around like a crazy man trying to get 2 songs synchronized for the display.

The site looks very nice.  If I had one comment it would be to loose the intro.  Most people to not like to wait for any kind of introduction.  Other than that you are off to a great start and good luck on your 2008 display.

Gary

Personally, the slideshow takes too long to load. I would rather just click on a thumbnail to see a picture. The 2nd picture I can't read any of the writing. Do you want this to be able to be read? I would also put your location somewhere on the first page. Maybe even down in the copyright part. Other then that, what you have so far looks fine.

You're off to a great start on the website.  I have a couple of suggestions:

-Remove the intro to your website and direct them to the home page directly.

Also, I'd recommend "hiding" the pages that say "Under Construction" until you are ready to publish them.

OK ... I have made the updates on the recommendations that I received.  The wife put her foot down with the photo album .  I am working with a limited supply in using 1 and 1's website builder :(

I do have plans to redo the base site using another tool that will give me more flexibility than the website builder tool.

Please - as always let me know how it looks and give me some suggestions.
