I am in, I will be there with bells on!  I cannot wait.  As for suggestions, how about a possible soldering lesson, hosting charity events/using a charity, using coro, using fm transmitters, and the like.  I guess being a newbie anything would be interesting.  If there is anything I could help with holler at me, I live about 3 hours from you.

Somehow I didn't catch this before...Labor day weekend?  ACK!  Say it isn't so!  That's not good for me at all!  There's too much going on Labor Day weekend!  :(  (It's also a bad weekend for traveling.)

Sorry, Ted, this is a disappointment. That weekend is about the only weekend that I have available to do this and because we had about 65 people last time over Labor Day weekend, it seemed to work out well. I know its a huge travel weekend, people wanting to take one last trip before fall, so I figured they can travel to Chicago. I know it may stop some people from joining us, but by posting this 6 months in advance, I felt that would give plenty of people who were on the fence about their plans for that weekend to make a decision.

Carrie you read my mind!  I am using this as our last trip for the summer.  It actually works out better for me being a holiday weekend.  What will it cost us?  I am aware you may not have the cost yet, but can you give me an estimate?

I haven't worked out the costs yet, but I'm thinking somewhere between $25 and $35 which will include 3 meals (Friday night bash, saturday breakfast and lunch), all drinks, a custom t-shirt as well as going toward some of the door prizes we'll be giving away. I will post actual costs a bit closer to the event. I anticipate getting everything finalized and up on a web site by end of March, so that should give you plenty of time to plan.:D

You can see what we did at the 2006 Chicago MiniPlus by checking out the old website.  Please note this is the old 2006 site and has no bearing on the current planning or activities for the mini this summer.

Edit:  Looks like Carrie beat me to punch!  Removed cost info from last year I had in post.

Edit: updated link.

Wait a minute!  Hold on!  Stop the presses!  I made a mistake!  Friends I must offer my humble apology.  I know that many of my fans were teetering on the edge about to spiral into a deep depression upon hearing the news that I would not be there.  But I was just mixed up!  You see, I have this mental block with the Monday holidays and I always forget which is which.   Memorial day is the one I was thinking of.  Memorial day bad!  Too much going on here to be gone.  Labor day good!  :D  Yeah!  Yeah!  Labor day good!  Just one thing though.  I normally expect to log some grill time over Labor day.  I'm talkin' burgers ala Laura's lean beef (available at Kroger) with a little chopped onion.  And corn...grilled corn on the cob.  (That could require a bit of Monkhouse assistance.)  Can we make this happen?  :D

Man some grill time sounds really good right now. Its 10 degrees without the wind chill. Boy a burger on the grill sounds good. Hope this can work out if not what ever we eat will be good as long as we eat. Iowa Santa

Ted, that's great news! Grill time can easily be arranged, perhaps I'll plan that for late Saturday and into Saturday evening? Shouldn't be a problem, but I would like to know who wants BBQ, who wants Pizza? Have to figure all this out. My job is facilitator for all of you..coordinate all this so that everyone goes home happy, well fed, and armed to the teeth with new ideas and information.

So come on folks, what is your preference and what do you want to learn when you're here?

That is a tough choice......BBQ or Chicago style deep dish pizza.  My vote would be BBQ.

Hmm...maybe out for BBQ Friday evening, pizzas for lunch Saturday and then Saturday evening...."The Big Grill"!   (I'm actually salivating at the thought!)  The big question though, can we finagle a "Monkhouse Assist"???

Now if  Jackie and Walter were to come, I don't think I could attend, I'd probably faint! But I'd definitely gift  my straw hat to Walter, he said he liked it!
