Thank you for this Val, and you can count my wife and I taking the class. We each want to do the penguin, so that is 2 penguins. Do we send the $$$ when we register?
Val's correct, registration will be done through the Chicagoland website in general and for the cutout lab.
Just to update everyone, I've been working on the website and am hoping to get it up soon. My "real life" does tend to interfere with what's important , so please bear with me.
So far we have the following on our agenda:
DMX Control (Nick Diaz and Michael Farney)
Using Electroluminescent wire in your display (Jerry Plak)
Cutouts and painting them (Val)
All things Electricity (Tony Furst)
Welding (includes hands on) and building a wire frame from scratch (Gregg Jones)
Lighting frames, complete how-to, minis (Chris Berglund)and ropelight, including how to on cutting and splicing (Bill Hoffman)
Inflatables: modification, separating that fan from the lights for independent control (Marty Slack)
Building a roof grid (Jerry Plak)
LOR (tbd)
Working with Coro (Marty Slack)
Blow molds (Bill Weis, Carrie Sansing)
I'm also working on lining up a few more instructors for a couple of other topics..so please stay tuned!
We will also have an ongoing Swap meet/sale/trade throughout the day; and
Friday night: Meet & Greet - Chicago Pizza Night
Breakfast and lunch on Saturday capped off with a BBQ!
I'll be posting a link to the website with hotel information and more in depth particulars as soon as possible.
Thanks to everyone for their interest and support!
Christmas Delight wrote: Carrie, can you mark me down. Sounds like alot of fun! Can't wait to see everyone.
Sure! Happy too! I'm keeping rough track with a spreadsheet, but remember you'll have to register too. Glad you want to join the fun!
Carrie in case no one has told you lately your doing a heck of a job and keep up the good work. The wife and I can't wait to meet you and everyone else. Will there be anything on blowmold repainting? Just wondering?
I didn't think anyone would be interested in blow mold restoration. If people do want to know about this area, I will cover it (I had the honor of teaching it at PLUS2007).
We do have blow molds on the schedule in respect to their history, manufacturing, identification, etc...two resident experts, Bill Weis and Bill Miller (Bill M taught at PLUS2005 and 07, he's doing it instead of me..woohoo!) have graciously volunteered (with a little bit of arm twisting LOL) to share some of their knowledge with us.
If we have more than one or two attendees expressing interest in restoration, no problem adding it..otherwise I'd be happy to field any questions throughout the day of the mini.
