Light-UP Ohio 2008 - Christmas Group Information to Share. Read Only. No more posting. - PlanetChristmas! Forums. Read Only. We've moved to http://talk.planetchristmas.com - The Forums of PlanetChristmas have moved to http://talk.PlanetChristmas.com
Time to start planning for the '08 Light-Up Ohio. I am thinking we should shoot for the same timeframe that we used last year. This way we can make it something annual that everyone can plan around.
We are thinking about three potential dates:
Saturday, May 3rd
Saturday, May 10th
Saturday, May 17th
A poll has been created for this thread to get those that might attend's input. Last year we held it on the third Saturday of May. I will let everyone choose a date until March 24th. I think May 3rd and May 17th are the dates we should shoot for. May 10th is Mother's Day weekend and I would like to stay away from that weekend.
There has already been a few ideas tossed around for things that someone would like to see presented. If you are willing to be a presenter, then please contact me as soon as possible.
I am checking on the availability of my work conference room again if noone objects. Since Columbus is centrally located for everyone to get to this makes sense. We also do not have any costs on holding the event at my work. I will be verifying with my work this week to make sure that we can still use the room.
Please let me know if anyone has any questions!
Thanks,
Scott

According to my calendar May 11th is Mother's day, but since my Mother-In-Law lives in Columbus I'm sure my wife wouldn't mind being over there that weekend.

When one light goes out, they all go out!
hey there guys, great to see this is going to happen again this year.. I had a great time at it last year....
to those who are wishign to computerize their lights i will most certainly be of all the help I can for you.. I love to see more people getting into computerized lighting each year.. I wasnt aware till reading the other thread that there are more in columbus doing it. I have done it the past 2 seasons with AL (animated lighting), however have for 2008 bought 7 LOR controllers and the new LOR software is SOOO much easier to use i think you would be surprised at how easy it is to computerize..
im sure you guys saw my lights display on TV 6 / 28 for 2006(grove city),in 2007 I didnt do quite as much becuase work had me travel 2 weeks of november and 3 weeks of december..
I have my AL stuff for sale however if it hasnt sold by the time Lightsup happens I can do a demo on AL.. as well as my new LOR..
I also have some very simple Leaping light arches that I built very cheaply I could bring and show.
as well as a great way to mount C-9's straight and in a line for outlining a house quickly and easily..
I also made PVC snowflakes out of standard pipe that look pretty good ill bring one of those too if I can get it in the Jeep.
any weekend in may is as good as any other.. I can try to make sure im niot jetsetting so that i can attend. the venue we did it last year was great and the people wonderful!

Mommy Can I put my lights up yet?
I would also love to attend. My work schedule is very erratic on Saturdays so I won't know if I can attend untill the Friday before If I can, I will be there! Which Saturday is un-important to me righ now.
