ok, I know I've read this one somewhere and have searched through the eoff-season topics but can't find it, so ...

does anyone have a good and detailed explanation on how to do the switch hack for a fog machine so that it can be triggered by a LOR board

I've got a Spencers fog machine model FX-A witha remote switch that can be set to inverval for or fog on demand.

it's a good discussion about the topic, but nobody really showed or explained very well (at least for this challenged guy) how they made it work

Why not get something DMX compatible?  Then, you don't have to hack the switch.  I have two foggers running off dmx this year.  I suppose it can be a little pricey if weren't planning on DMX, but hey...it might motivate you to get some colorwashes while you're at it.
