Hopefully nothing by Barbra Streisand. If it is, I'm finding a new hobby! :P

When we are decorating the inside of the house each year we play "Christmas Music."

When we were first married, my wife used to throw in her "BS" CD and it drove me nuts. I tolerated it as much as any caring husband could.

After a few years, I grew weary of arguing with her over what music to listen to so I suggested we have children.

Now, the kids are old enough to do my dirty work for me: "Aw, MOM! Not THAT STUFF!"

:]

I have always loved "Father Christmas" by The Kinks
but I don't think most people would care for it.

If I was only building my display for myself, I would definitely use it.

Here is the music (you can enjoy or ignore the Harry Potter clips)

I was going to say the Waitresses too. I love that song and it doesn't get played nearly enough at the holidays. It just so darn fun.

I have also been finding lots of classic christmas tunes that have been turned into dance mixes. I know...you are probably groaning out there...and I have to say that lots of it is really bad...but occasionally you can come across a real gem that lends itself well to animating.

While I didn't find this on CD, I was able to TIVO that episode off of Noggin the other day.  A few minutes with Audacity and it's now part of the show.  PM me for details.

I am thinking of using this song right after I annouce that we are accepting donations for Make a Wish.

I would like to hear what people think of it.

Not bad.  Another good version is done by Miss Piggy (of the Muppets), on 'John Denver's Christmas Together'.   It's done as a round, and could be interesting to animate.

See if MAW has a 15 second or however long you are willing to give them commercial grade audio spot.  It legitimizes your display and gives it a professional feel that will really dig at the heartstrings of your viewers.

The clip you had was good, but I would think they may have something that has been tested.

Great idea.  I love Make a Wish.
