i was thinking about adding a video projector to my display next year (or this year if i really wantd too) and was wondering how to make the screen. its going t obe outside and the the projector will be inside shining on the back of the screen. i was wondering if i took some sheets and tightned them onto a frame would work? if not what elce could i do to make a good cheap screen.

What I did was take a sheet of plexiglas, and sand it with a random orbital sander, which turned it a nice milky white. I then built a frame out of wood to hold it.
If it's dry out, it works really well. Even with snow on it, it still works well. When raining/wet, though, it tends to turn clear again and not work as well.
I used the Painters Plastic and folded it in half to get the desired brightness from my projection. I use a projector pointed out a window, set up for rear projection.

what do u mean by painters plastic? is that the clear plastic you put on the carpet when painting?

yes, its kind of milky color though, not perfect clear.. Lowes and HD sell it in the paint department. It is a clear heavy duty plastic drop cloth. It comes in a folded package, and several different thickness. I got the thickest I think it was a 3mil thickness. Than I folded it in half so it was a 6 mil thick screen.
I did have to replace my plastic this year though... Not because of weathering, but due to scuffs from storage.

I do not know if this would work outside for you or not. But I too was looking for a way to make a rear projection style screen. I put a post here and searched google and cam eup with wax paper. I am going to try it out this week. But mine will be in the house for my virtual santa.
If it works you could place it between two pieces of plexiglass and seal it with silicon.
I love the screen and the frame you built for it too.
