I plan on doing alot of unique mixing of music this year. Just wanted to drop a line and see what others who do this are using? I was thinking of taking the plunge and getting myself Acidpro 6. But again it is a costly piece of software and if there are other products out there that are way better in price I really would like you opinions on them.

A lot of people use audacity (free). Personally, I use Garageband 3 for mac, which came with my machine.

For DJ'ing I use Mixmeister Fusion.  It's perfect for combining/editing songs.  They have a studio version as well (no live play feature).  Info http://www.mixmeister.com/

They do have a 30 day download.
