the couple of trial ones that I've tried are not very good.

I'll buy one if it's worthwhile

I use DVDFab Platinum.  The registered version converts to many many different formats though I did have to play with the settings to get it to work *right* on my player(s).

I use and highly recommend the SlySoft product line.  In this particular case, look at their CloneDVD Mobile product: http://www.slysoft.com/en/clonedvd-mobile.html

I purchased the entire SlySoft product line as a bundle to save a little, and the products are really reliable and updated frequently.
