I mean you could have an 8 foot sign that just said "Turn on your radio dummy - try 93.7 fm" and somebody would still sit and wonder why the lights were blinking around the yard and why should they turn on thier radio while "Sweet Home Alabama" is playing on thier mp3 player
as long as your sign is easily seen and readable from the street I think your ok for most of your visitors
I did like the idea of your lights getting jiggy to the music though

Here's another try from your suggestions
I like that, but would suggest one change: remove he first "Bazillion Lights". I know it's your display name but it seems a little redundant with the website. Alternatively, you could try to do the font trick that I did in my examples above and combine them.
I'd also make "tune to" just a little bigger, but now I'm nitpicking. The trick is that you want someone to glance at the sign and pick up what to do without thinking too hard (like a billboard...)
Yea, I see that too. I'd have to add a sign (or ten) for my legal disclaimers.
1. Free (to enjoy)
2. stay in your car.
3. keep your radio at reasonable levels.
4.......
......
11435. be on you best behavior.

4. Stay away Vandals!

why don't you just encase a nice 37" lcd in plexiglass and seal it up then try out all of your signage options in a rotating fashion and let us know which one worked best
you can appeal to all of your potential audiences with phrases from the simple "listen to the lights", "musical light show", to "Gettin jiggy with the lights", "move to the music", and for the young crowd something like "fo shizzle, the litizzles are wicky wicky movin to da beat" - then just rotate to the last screen for the Happy Gilmore fans and tell them "turn on your radio jacka**"
It works quite well. If they don't understand THAT, there is the sign on the other side of the display:
"Listen to our light show on 102.1 FM"
FYI (I'm just looking to add MORE fuel to this fire!).
1 - I too don't like the 'lights dance' phrases. Lights do NOT dance, people do (ok, so does that smiley.... But lights don't and so that phrase may not make sense to some people).
2 - I don't like 'Listen to the lights' either. Lights do not make sound (except if you are counting that whirrrrrr coming from the electric meter ).
3 - People DO understand what a 'Show' is. A 'show' consists of multiple multi-media elements designed to entertain (from M-W.com: 3 a: to give a theatrical performance b: to be staged or presented). By telling them it's a show, you do 2 things:
There is MORE behind this than just randomly blinking lights
Since there is 'more' that something MUST be audio (smell-o-vision displays excluded )
(ed to include images)

I'm with you guys. I can't stand the "dancing" lights thing. The one exception is Joe Ayo's dancing man!

Nobody has yet come up with a better word though!
(for what it's worth I'm not thrilled with the concept of "dancing lights" either, nor did I come up with it. I just can't think of a better "layman's" term...
