If you live in CT or want to travel to Ct. A Supervisor for the company I work for just called me and told me he has a bunch of 4" & 6" plastic pipe that will be going to the trash. I really have no need for any of the 6" might take a few feet of the 4" but sounds like he has quite a bit.
If you have a use for some of this let me know and I will get it for you and you can come pick it up in Meriden.
The stuff is currently in Stamford and if that is closer for you maybe I can work it out where you can pick it up there? I make no promises on this? I would have to ask first.
He also has some 1/4 -up to 1" 1/2 " plastic service pipe in roughly 100' coils that I laid claim to. If I have more than I really need I would be willing to share.
The smaller stuff is perfect for leaping arches or things of that nature.
How about it Scott?

Maybe you need to tell this guy about craigslist.com! If nothing else he could call a plumbing company and they would probably come pick it up! It amazes me how wasteful some folks are...

Ted, I work for a natural gas co. I don't think they would or could sell it if only due to liability issues. I'm sure there are other issues also.
It wont get wasted ,I will use what I can and I bet where ever the rest gets dumped it will be recycled.
The reason they can not use it for gas distribution is that if it has more than 10% surface scratches on it it's considered unusable/unsafe by law.
Seems silly ,but that's the Government/DPUC for you

Thanks for the heads up Chris. I'm still several years away from my mega tree(s). As I've mentioned to you before, management (aka the wife) believes mega trees are a quick 20 minute project. I, (aka labor) think she is sadly mistaken.
She didn't seem so zealous about building one, when I told her she could borrow my tools to build it!
Next year, I'm going to concentrate on the house, and improving my skills with Animation Director. The house still looks the same as it did 3 years ago when we were static. As for the programing, I'm in the second grade. I'd like to get into high school before I start putting up next years display!
In a perfect world, I'd say I'm three years away from building a mega tree.
Thanks for thinking of me by PM ing me. If you come across any other finds, please let me know, and I'll do the same.

I wasn't suggesting that they sell it. I was simply suggesting that they give it away. A plumbing company would probably come pick up free pipe. When I made that original post I didn't realize that you were talking about the pipe that a gas company considers to be unsafe. That's a different situation.
