I was just out at the local Home Depot tonight and saw this. Not sure if they have the deal where you are but might be worth checking.

50 ft.  16/3  Green ext. cord   $5.00 each      Reg. $8.97
HD  code    809-543

Thanks for the post.  I've been watching HD and Walmart and they both have an overstock of these cords.  It's nice to see the prices falling... but I'm hoping for the $3 range. ;)

Thanks again for the headsup.

I checked this at my Home Depot when it was first posted and they did not have these cords on sale.  I was in there yesterday, and "yes," they have the same cords on sale for $5.00 now.  So, you may want to check your Home Depot again.

Edit to add:  One possible reason that these price changes do not show up at the same time at all stores may be the way price changes are handled.  I know that where I work, some price changes are done at the corporate headquarters for all stores, such as a 50% markdown for all Christmas items.  Other price changes come down from the headquarters, such as for specific items like these cords, but the price changes have to be done by the local store.  When these get done depends upon when the responsible individual gets around to doing it.

WooHoo! I noticed the stock levels rising as well. I knew the sale had to be coming soon.  Time to go buy a cart full...

Is this @ super HD or also regular HD(s) ?

Every time I look, these are $13.xx ... and they have boxes and boxes of them on the top shelves ... hopefully a promo is coming soon!

I don't know what a Super HD is, but the one in Casa Grande is just a regular old HD as far as I know.

Thanks.  Well when I called my local HD ... they said they are just a regular-sized HD ... not a "super sized" one.  I have noticed that some HD have more products and a larger footprint.  I supposed those are the super HD stores he was referring to.

For example, I could buy 1x4 boards at the super HD in Park Meadows ... but could not buy a 1x4 cut board at my local HD in Castle Rock.

Taybrynn,

Please make sure you are checking for specific SKU:

809-543

Your price sounds too high. (They are Reg. only $8.97) Could be you're inadvertently checking on 14/3 cords vs. the 16/3 cords.

If you have the Customer Service desk (UP front) check on this SKU, ask how many they have in stock. Then ask them to verify the price.

I truely hope this works out for you.

Leon

I've checked with our home depot here in college station and none of the cords are on special.  All are regular price.  I've even carried them to the scanners and checked them myself.

I have been checking both of the HD stores in my area since this post first started and all of their cords are at regular price. They have plenty of that sku number in stock but they are not on sale. When I asked about the price at the customer service counter I was told that they are not on sale.:( I am wonder if it maybe some sort of regional sale?

regional maybe, but I'd bet it just that store.   We get things like that here all the time.....go to one store and find xyz on sale and drive 20 minutes to the next store and its not on sale.   Maye that store had a huge excess of cords in stock and wanted to clear them out.

Hmmm, interesting. I'm hearing both from people all over the country. (I also belong to another forum) Some have the same deal while others do not. And we recently heard from circus4u in this thread that they did not have the deal until about a week or two after I saw it. We have 5 Home Depots in the local Reno area and all listed the same deal on this SKU. Must be regional or perhaps something that corporate hands down and lets the store handle at their discretion.

I just checked the HD around me within 3 counties and they all have a large qty in stock, but the price is $8.87.  They could not tell me if they will be going on sale or not. :( :(
