How to tell everyone I'm NOT lighting up this year - Words of Wisdom. Read Only. No more posting. - PlanetChristmas! Forums. Read Only. We've moved to http://talk.planetchristmas.com - The Forums of PlanetChristmas have moved to http://talk.PlanetChristmas.com
This is the first year that I'm NOT lighting up. No...it's not because I'm burned out or lost any Christmas spirit. It's just to spend tons of time with family that I have neglected to spend with during the holidays in the past. I know that tons of people are going to drive past our yard and think that we moved or just stopped doing it. Well...I would like to somehow let them know we are just taking a break and will be back bigger and better next year.
Anyone done this in the past? Just taking a break for one year? How to advertise or explain that in a short and concise way? Thx!
Wayne I would like to thank you for all the help you gave us with your web page. I don't think I would be doing a display had I not found your site and learned all I did from it. It was your mega tree that inspired us to do an animated light show.
My suggestion is to make a simple sign and if you are transmitting, a short voice-over explaining that you are taking a break this year to spend with loved ones.

Thank you all for the suggestions and the kudos on my website. Glad to hear that I could help so many others...as others have helped me.
I think I will put out a simple message like "Merry Christmas!" then "Taking a break...100.5FM" and then under that http://www.nevadachristmas.com. I'll transmit a message with Christmas music, etc.
