Anybody else having a week on the rocks? It's been a rough week. Lots of crankies and arguments...I could live without all of it.

Take a few days and don't watch the news, read the paper or listen to the radio.

When someone asks you how's it going, say "fantastic".

Pretty soon you'll talk yourself (and others) into believing it.

Work on your Christmas display, that always cheers me up.

Works for me.

No doubt!  I actually did a bit of yard work (something we Minnesotans actually look forward to in the spring (at least speaking for myself) since we've been cooped up for months...)  Today it's raining but I still just came inside measuring the yard since we'll be putting in an "invisible" dog fence as soon as weather permits...

You think YOU'VE got problems?!?

Today, Jack chased a couple of Jesus lizards around the back yard. They finally dove into the pool to escape from him and I had to send my son in to retrieve them before they croaked and ended up in the skimmer! ;)

This one here is actually about 20" long but the camera angle makes it appear shorter:

Aww! They're actually pretty neat lizards because they run upright on their hind legs.

They're called "Jesus" lizards because once they get moving they can actually cover quite a distance on top of the water. (They have huge webbed feet.)

We've got 4 or so living in the back yard. They're kind of territorial so we've watched most of them grow up from babies.

We have those (gekkos) too, but they're only 5-6" long or so. Along the canals there are TONS of iguanas. Some of those are over 5' long.

Of course, we get the occasional alligator as well. Usually 4 or 5 a year have to be dragged out of the water each year.

So Jake is kinda fearless chasing something bigger than him?

Do those lizards talk with an accent too?

Usually the lizards take off the minute they see Jack coming but today he came upon one that hadn't seen him coming.

They both stood frozen in a "stare down" about 6' apart for well over 2 minutes. The lizard finally jumped into the pool (which is when I noticed the other one in there.)
