It doesn't matter to me where it is. I'll be there. I haven't missed a PLUS yet because they are fantastic and worth the trip to wherever it might be!
The best thing about PLUS is meeting so many like-minded people who share our enthusiasm for Christmas and decorating. The classes are great but sometimes the real lessons happen in the hallways and hotel lobbies as people chat. I've made lifelong friendships with people at every PLUS and I'm sure 2009 will bring the same.

Exactly what Marty said..see you there in 2009, wherever it may be.
Here'as just a little about how the search has been progressing through March, 2008...
Gatlinburg, TN: they contact me a couple of times a month begging for PLUS to come back. I keep telling them we're moving to another state.
Las Vegas, NV: was there last week. Jeeeeessssseeeeee. It used to be cheap and easy to get there... but they got that fixed. Inexpensive food and rooms are just a memory. VERY pricey tradeshow space. Let's just say I wasn't encouraged.
Frankenmuth, MI (home of Bronners): Very accommodating city... but a bit too far from any major airport (which would be Detroit, the best I can tell)
New Orleans, LA: is showing potential. Lots of character, good airport and CVB appears eager to work with us.
San Diego, CA: Beautiful city. Love the weather. Initial probing of show space appears it to be very expensive.
Orlando, FL: has potential and everything seems reasonably priced. I'm concerned about competition with rather expensive theme parks.
Stay tuned. More to come.

Plus (no pun intended) AA flies 777's on the return leg. (Too bad I can't grab one on the way out.)
First class on the 777 rules.
Speaking of Houston, and since it's so easy to get to ... will I get a chance to meet you this summer at the TCL Workshop?
That would mean every one who wanted to attend would also have the added expense of a passport. Not a big deal for most of us, but I can see where some people wouldn't want to deal with the extra expense.

Saginaw is closer and has a commericial airport (MBS International) but it is served by United Express and Northwest Airlink-commuter airlines which means a connection through Chicago O'Hare or Detroit is most likely with United and Minneapolis or Detroit for Northwest. Their website does mention four rental car agencies. http://www.mbsairport.org. The airport code for ticket info is MBS or KMBS depending on if it needs a 3 or 4 letter code.
I would think Saginaw or Frankenmeuth would have chambers of commerce that might be worth checking with.
That is one problem with that part of Michigan-it's noman's land. The highway signs for Northbound I-75 list the Mackinac Bridge as the next place-a distant 191 miles away
